About Capstacked

We exist because the hardest audience to reach is the one worth reaching.

Capstacked is a specialized advisory and development firm for businesses whose growth depends on earning trust with high-net-worth individuals.

The Observation

Three industries. Same fundamental problem. No one solving it well.

CRE sponsors need accredited investors. Philanthropic platforms need wealthy donors. Wealth management firms need HNW households. Every one of them is chasing the same audience - and almost all of them are doing it with tools and tactics designed for mass-market consumers.

The result is predictable: generic content that signals ignorance, promotional campaigns that trigger suspicion, and digital experiences that feel like they were built for a different audience - because they were.

“We started Capstacked because we kept seeing the same pattern: smart firms with great offerings, losing to competitors who simply understood how wealthy people actually make decisions.”

The gap wasn't in product quality. It was in audience intelligence. The firms that win HNW relationships aren't the ones with the best pitch - they're the ones who build trust systematically, over time, through content and experiences designed for how wealthy people actually evaluate, decide, and commit.

That's what Capstacked builds. Not marketing. Not consulting. The full operating system for HNW acquisition.

What We Believe

Five principles that shape every engagement.

01

Trust is the only currency that converts this audience.

When every financial platform, nonprofit, and advisory firm is competing for the same wealthy audience's attention, the rational response is to tune everything out. Every piece of content that educates without selling earns incremental trust. Every piece that pushes a product or CTA burns it. Trust accumulates slowly and collapses instantly. We design everything around this reality.

02

Specificity is credibility.

A CRE sponsor raising from HNW LPs, a philanthropic platform engaging wealthy donors, and a wealth management firm acquiring $1M+ households - these are three different audiences with three different vocabularies, three different decision-making patterns, and three different trust thresholds. Generalists can't operate here. We don't try to.

03

Strategy without execution is expensive fiction.

We don't hand you a deck. We build the systems, produce the content, and operate the infrastructure. The gap between strategic advice and operational execution is where most HNW acquisition strategies go to die. We bridge it by doing both.

04

Depth over reach. Always.

HNW audiences don't respond to volume. They respond to demonstrated expertise. A 2,000-word article that fully explains a strategy builds more pipeline than a hundred social posts. We optimize for the content that actually moves wealthy people from skepticism to conviction.

05

Pace is a strategic decision.

Wealthy people make decisions slowly. Not because they're indecisive - because they have options, they've been burned before, and they can afford to wait. Systems designed for HNW acquisition must be built around this pace. Premature urgency doesn't accelerate conversion - it permanently disqualifies you.

Marshall Clark has spent more than a decade focused exclusively on one problem: how to systematically recruit high-net-worth individuals for financial services and investment firms. Not mass-market leads. Not institutional capital. Individual wealthy people making individual decisions about where to place their trust and their money.

As the founding VP of Marketing at CrowdStreet, Marshall designed the data, software, marketing, and sales system that delivered the B2C commercial real estate investment platform's first billion dollars in capital under management - and laid the foundation for what would become over $5 billion in capital placed. As VP Marketing at Cadre, an Andreessen Horowitz-backed asset management firm, he replicated the approach: building the firm's entire B2C growth engine and helping scale their first Opportunity Zone fund to $200 million in invested assets.

The pattern across both platforms was the same - and it became the thesis for Capstacked: HNW acquisition is not a marketing problem. It's a systems problem. The firms that win don't do better marketing. They build better infrastructure for earning trust at scale.

“Every firm I worked with had the same gap: great product, no system for reaching the people who should be buying it. Capstacked exists to close that gap.”

Before CRE and fintech, Marshall spent a decade in executive marketing roles at Interpublic Group and Omnicom Group agencies, managing $100M+ media budgets and digital programs for Microsoft, BMW, Chrysler, Bank of America, and other Fortune 100 clients. He also served on the Interactive Advertising Bureau's search committee and conceived and edited The Comprehensive Guide to Commercial Real Estate Investing.

Honest Positioning

What we're not.

Clarity about what we aren't is as important as clarity about what we are.

We're notA marketing agency

Agencies build campaigns. We build audience-specific acquisition systems - the strategy, the content, the infrastructure, and the ongoing operation.

We're notA management consultancy

Consultancies deliver decks and recommendations. We deliver those too - and then we build what they recommend.

We're notA generalist firm

We serve three verticals. That's it. Every framework, every persona, every content template is built for how wealthy people actually behave in these specific markets.

We're notThe cheapest option

We work with firms that see HNW acquisition as a strategic investment. If you're looking for the approach that actually works with wealthy audiences - that's the conversation we want to have.

Let's talk about your HNW audience.

Whether you're exploring options or ready to move - a 30-minute conversation is how every engagement begins.
